Everything you need to know about Blumarelo
An elevator pitch, eh? Here it is:
Blumarelo is a band that brings clear skies, warm ocean breeze, sun-scorched sand, and good times wherever they go. To do so, the band have crafted a sound that might be regarded as “tropical rock.” Blumarelo—Latin-influenced rhythms. A splash of indie rock. Mix well before use.
Even shorter?

But what about the longer story?
Blumarelo is a band. But it’s also a search for a feeling inside all of us. A colourful feeling. Clear skies, warm ocean breeze, sun-scorched sand, and everything in between.
In fact, the band’s name combines the colour blue, “sea” in Spanish (“mar”), and “yellow” in Portuguese (“amarelo”).
To encapsulate this feeling, the band have crafted a sound that might be regarded as “tropical rock.” It’s full of sentimental melodies, storytelling, and hip-swaying grooves.
Blumarelo are Vincent Teetsov (rhythm guitar, vocals), Renan Deodato (lead guitar), Mauricio Gamboa (bass), and Julious Nshaba (drums)—friends who have bonded over their Latin roots, indie rock, and a desire to bring out a good time for their musical community. An appreciation for coxinha may have been influential, too.
Joining the band live and in the studio are numerous instrumentalists who can get a party going as soon as they hit the stage.

Lenny Stoute, ex-music writer for the Toronto Star
"[Their music] is thoughtful original material that even handedly melds two disparate genres into something way cooler than the sum of its parts... So if getting your spirits uplifted on a regular basis is your thang, this is the band for you. For me too. ‘Course, I always get jazzed when I hear a band that’s def bringing something fresh to the table and Blumarelo’s sound is fresh as a just caught red snapper."
"This mix of hope and despair is plain in the song’s touch of malaise amidst sunny guitars, with Vincent Teetsov riding the emotional line in his vocals... each chorus [of "Maybe You'll Win This Time"] drives in how many times you live through this same conversation with yourself... the solo gives one break from all this, shifting to a moment of light, and suggests things are looking up for them as well..."
Jojo Taylor, Blast Toronto
"They quickly warmed up the crowd with their delightful and enjoyable energy... Their enthusiastic bounciness even brought on a couple of dancers to add to the sunny crowd... Their charm comes from just wanting their audience to have fun."
